New Hampshire schools are moving beyond one-size-fits-all toward competency based education and student centered learning. Many teachers are ready to move from teaching at the front of the room to coaching each student in setting their own goals for learning and working to get there. But our schools need to continue to evolve to support these big changes and help students achieve more in each year of their school lives. This new toolkit helps schools do that.
The key, the guide says, is strong leadership. They say, “We conducted interviews of district superintendents and district leadership teams from across the country that were leading system level change around personalized learning.” What they brought back was great insights about how teachers can use curriculum, instruction, and the whole school environment to help student lift off and make more progress than ever before.
