Reaching Higher NH (RHNH) serves as a public education policy resource for New Hampshire parents, educators and elected officials. We are dedicated to supporting public education and fostering high standards that give our students the opportunity to prepare for college, for immediate careers, and for the challenges of life in 21st century New Hampshire. RHNH works with organizations across NH, including, the Business and Industry Association of NH, NEA – NH, the NH Coalition for Business and Education, and the NH School Administrators Association.
Reaching Higher NH will provide dollar-for-dollar matching grants of up to $300 to support teachers, and students and teachers together, in creating PACE Setter Classroom Projects – hands-on projects, performance tasks, or any other concept that promotes personalized competency-based learning and New Hampshire’s work study practices.
Projects should be:
- personalized – meeting learners where they are;
- competency-based – expecting students to demonstrate mastery of a topic before moving on to the next; and,
- flexible – understanding that learning can happen any time, anywhere.
Most importantly, the projects should encourage students to take ownership of their learning. Successful PACE Setter Classroom Projects will encourage: goal-setting, self-assessment, complex real-world problem solving, effective communication, and collaboration. Only projects for students in kindergarten – 12th grade will be considered for matching.
Applications are graded on a point system that is explained in this grant rubric. To ensure your application is approved, please strive to meet all rubric requirements listed. A member of the Reaching Higher NH staff may get in touch with you with feedback to about how to make your project more fundable.
We ask that, within 30 days of project completion, the final report take the form of a short video showing your results.
Your project is eligible for consideration if you are an educator in the state of New Hampshire, employed full-time at a public or public charter school or public school district and you work directly with students at least 75% of the time.
