Reaching Higher New Hampshire Presents

Public Information Session on SB 193:
Breaking Down the Bill and its Potential Financial Impacts

Wednesday, December 6th
9:00-10:00 a.m.
Sulloway & Hollis
29 School Street, Concord, NH 03301

Please join Reaching Higher for a briefing and Q&A on SB 193, a bill to create a statewide education freedom savings account program. The House Education Committee recently voted 10-9 ought-to-pass and the full House will vote on this legislation at the start of the 2018 session in January. Reaching Higher will walk through the version of the bill passed by House Education, discuss potential financial impacts, and then open the session up for questions.

Highlights will include:

  • Eligibility – who is eligible for an education freedom savings account? How large is the eligible population across the state? How does it vary across school districts?
  • Financial Impact – what are the potential financial implications for local school districts, taxpayers, and the state?
  • Special Education – what are the implications for students who receive special education services?
  • Accountability (academic and programmatic) – what are the accountability standards for students who use an education freedom savings account? What is the level of public oversight?

This event is scheduled for Wednesday, December 6th in the basement conference room at Sulloway & Hollis (29 School St., Concord, NH 03301). Please RSVP to Dan Vallone, Director of Engagement, at dan@reachinghighernh.org or 603-724-8705 by Monday, December 4th. Seating is limited.
