Reaching Higher NH announced today that Evelyn Aissa has joined the organization as its executive director. Evelyn comes to Reaching Higher NH with a strong background in policy, advocacy, and management, having spent three years in health policy advocacy here in Concord, ten years working in policy research in the US and overseas, and over three years as a successful business owner in New Hampshire.
“Reaching Higher NH has brought together a tremendous and diverse group of business, policy, education, and community leaders, all deeply committed to ensuring that New Hampshire’s public schools provide all our children, regardless of zip code, with an exceptional education,” Evelyn said. “Our state is a national leader in the effort to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to be ready for the workforce, college, and life in their communities. We all want NH’s children to have the opportunity to be productive and successful members of our community and strong, forward-looking public schools are at the center of that effort,” she continued. “Reaching Higher has already become a critical resource in the discussion of the future of New Hampshire public education and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help move this essential work forward.”
Reaching Higher NH co-chair Alan Reische said, “We are very pleased to have found an executive director of Evelyn Aissa’s energy, commitment and qualifications.” Co-chair Tom Rath added, “We have given ourselves a big assignment and Evelyn Aissa is the right person for the job!”
Evelyn holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School, Tufts University, with a specialization in psychosocial health. She completed her fieldwork down in post-Katrina New Orleans, Louisiana and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Skidmore College in 2003, with a BA in Government and International Affairs.
Reaching Higher NH was formed in 2015 to serve as a public education resource for New Hampshire parents, educators and elected officials. The organization is dedicated to supporting public education and fostering high standards that give all New Hampshire students the opportunity to prepare for college, for immediate careers, and for the challenges of life in 21st century New Hampshire.
