Dan Vallone, Reaching Higher NH’s Director of Engagement, provided Nashua residents with an overview of this legislative session’s education initiatives, reported the Union Leader. Check out his presentation here

It has been a busy session for legislators, explained Vallone:

About 30 people attended a town hall forum led by Reaching Higher NH, a nonpartisan public education policy resource for New Hampshire families and officials.

“New Hampshire really is an innovate state,” he said, explaining state officials are focused on helping students with personalized learning — without compromising standards.

New Hampshire is leading the charge in holding high standards in education while also investing in personalized learning opportunities, he said.

Vallone highlighted three major education debates currently underway in the Granite State, including school choice, full-day kindergarten and the role of the State Board of Education.

“These are a fairly complex set of issues,” said Vallone, adding most of them will likely still be debated next year.

Reaching Higher NH has met with community groups across the state. If you are interested in hosting a community forum with us, please email staff@reachinghighernh.org.
