Sununu taps Cline to chair Board of Education

Dave Solomon writes in today’s Union Leader, of the new Board of Education chair,

Andrew Cline was confirmed as the newest member of the state Board of Education by the Executive Council on Wednesday, and Gov. Chris Sununu said he would ask him to serve as chairman….

Cline served as editorial page editor at the New Hampshire Union Leader from 2001-2015, before leaving to become an independent writer and communications consultant.

He has served as chairman of the board of the Educational Farm at Joppa Hill, a nonprofit in Bedford, since October of 2015.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he has three children, two in the public school system and one not yet school age.

He was sworn in immediately after the council adjourned, and said he would accept Sununu’s call to serve as chairman….

The Board of Education is scheduled to meet again on May 11.
