In 2014, 26 companies–many in high tech or science-related fields, pledged their support for the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and STEM in schools, according to Ed Week. As part of their pledge, they agreed that NGSS is the next step forward to prepare our students for life in the 21st century, and to help ensure that all students have access to high-quality, excellent STEM-learning opportunities.

Other corporations have also shown their support for the high science standards. Boeing has partnered with The Teaching Channel and schools across the United States to bring high-quality, engaging projects into the classroom. In one lesson, engineering concepts and electromagnetics bring the classic “egg drop challenge” to life with the help of top engineers. Lesson plans are available to download for free and are aligned with NGSS.
